Training

Offering a variety of learning and development opportunities to all state employees is extremely important to our overall goals. There are many training and development opportunities for state employees. To accommodate everyone’s unique learning preferences, we offer virtual and in-person instructor led courses, on-demand online courses, special seminars, special requests, mastermind groups, videos, and community discussion platforms.

All training opportunities can be found on the South Dakota State Government Learning Management System (SDLearn). To access SDLearn, visit https://sdlearn.csod.com/ and log in using your Single Sign On credentials. If you have questions, please email BHRTraining@state.sd.us

Employees under control of the governor now have access to SDLearn, and must register for all training courses through the system. If you are an employee with the Board of Regents, the Unified Judicial System, or a Constitutional Office, and you wish to register for a BHR Training Course, webinar, or special event, please email BHRTraining@state.sd.us with your name, and the course name, date, and time.

Whether you are planning a staff retreat, strategic planning, or other special large gathering of your personnel, our trainers would be happy to plan a training session just for your staff! You may choose from any of the topics currently being offered by BHR staff. The length of the session is provided in the descriptions of the course.

The minimum number of participants for a Professional Development course is 15.

All requests will be considered on a case by case basis in order that we may adequately prepare and schedule your special session in coordination with our regular training program. If we are not able to accommodate your request, we will do our best to suggest alternative resources.
